Falcon Ridge Inn
A Feast of Light and Vista - As you gaze out over the Bay of Fundy, one of the world’s most remarkable marine environments, you imagine all that’s going on beneath the surface. From your room at the Falcon Ridge Inn, you can see the coast of Nova Scotia on the distant horizon. Like dancers on a giant stage, seabirds dart and dive. It’s a performance unlike any other and like the sea life that swims below the surface out there, you feel like diving deep into this new inner world, a world of light, beauty and mystery.
Donna and Peter Colpitts spend their days running the inn which can be seen perched high on a hillside in the village of Alma. “People come here to experience this view of the Bay of Fundy,” Donna says with pride, “and every time we look out the window, there it is.
The Falcon Ridge offers guests more than a terrific view, though. Each of the 4 rooms is spacious and includes a fireplace, queen-size beds, a mini-fridge, wireless Internet service and an en suite bathroom with a double whirlpool tub. The breakfasts are first class, including plenty of fresh fruit, coffee and homemade goodies such as muffins. Before they decided on the inn, Peter teased that Donna could set up a streetside vending service for her pastries. Now, guests get to experience the benefits of her culinary talents. The inn is close to Fundy National Park of Canada, the Hopewell Rocks and many other local tourist attractions.
“We’ve had many guests who changed their plans so they could stay here for 2 or 3 nights,” Donna says. “That’s what happens when you experience the Bay of Fundy from our point of view.”
